Kepta Privacy Policy
Effective September 2026
Kepta is a kitchen inventory and food waste app. This page explains what information the app handles and what happens to it. The short version: your data is yours, it exists so the app can work for you, and you can erase all of it whenever you want.
What we collect
Two kinds of information, both provided by you:
- Your email address and password, used to create and sign in to your account. Your password is handled by our authentication provider and is never visible to us.
- The content you enter: food items, shopping list entries, leftovers, recipes you mark as cooked, and your waste log, including any prices you type in.
Where it lives
Your data is stored in a secured cloud database (Supabase) so it can sync to your device. Access is restricted so that each account can only read and write its own household's data.
What we do not do
- No advertising and no ad networks
- No tracking across other apps or websites
- No selling or sharing of your information with third parties
- No collection of your location, contacts, or photos
Notifications
If you allow notifications, Kepta schedules reminders on your device about food that needs attention. These are generated locally from your own data.
Deleting your data
Open Settings inside the app and choose Delete Account. This permanently removes your account and everything in it from our database. There is no waiting period and nothing is retained.
A note on shelf life dates
Freshness colors and dates in Kepta are quality guidance to help you plan meals. They are not food safety advice.
